The current history section in this page just talks about the origins of Tajiks. We should make a modern era section, that many other ethnic group pages already have. Tajiks have had plenty of history in the USSR, Soviet-Afghan War, Afghan civil war, and the current situation in Afghanistan right now.
Tajik in my opinion is combination of тощий and adjective suffix "ic" that is common between english and persian languages. тощий means skinny.previously I found that fars (persian) in another language is slim or thin and turk is широк or wide and lor is in pashtoon tall. there is a concordance between these names and their meanings. this is not a quote.
